The Quelurous Megapode
It has been announced that the next year will be known as the Year of the Quelurous Megapode
Hunting the Megapode appeared in Unseen Academicals when the faculty charged around the campus with cries of "Ho, the Megapode!" while chasing after the Egregious Professor of Cruel and Unusual Geography in a silly costume, namely Rincewind.
The megapodes, also known as incubator birds or mound-builders, are stocky, medium-large, chicken-like birds with small heads and large feet in the family Megapodiidae.
Megapode, 'bigfoot', is a native of Australia. It is uncertain why the Magapode is discontented.
